Glad to have you in the 'Burgh! There are quite a few of us with kids in the PCC, too, so that's another cool thing.
And, if you do want to learn to knit, our knitting guru Cosy is a great teacher, and has classes all the time! Plus, the folks who go are just fun to hang out with!
Let us know when you get settled!

Thanks, Jennie!

That's good to know.. I'll be looking for other parents/kids to hang out with because I'd like the little one to make some new friends as well. :)

Hi All:
These have been fun to read.
My name is Lisa and though I say I am from Pittsburgh, I live in a little rural town -between Pittsburgh and Washington, Pa.- named Muse. Great town name huh?

I have a shop on etsy http://www.exclamtionpoint.etsy.com

My mother is an artist so I have been slowly absconding her many toys and tools over the last few years - which reminds me that I have to return her sewing machine which has been assigned a place in the corner and has since been staring at me and muttering things under its breath like "See? I knew you I could beat you."
My first love was photography, until I met Metal, and being the lusty woman that I am have now taken yet a third lover..... Felt.... oh felt, you soft, wet, messy, soapy, heap of colorful fuzz..... be gentle with me.....
....................................................................................................
...........................sigh....................................................................

OK I'm back.....

I am also a massage therapist and involved with the Cecil Parks and Recreation Board which BTW. has a yearly Fall Craft Festival. When the time comes I'll make sure to drop a link here to forms and festival information.

Yours in craftiness,
L

Lisa - I truly love your work! It's so rare to see jewelry and felt work that is really unique - great stuff!!

You know, I'm also really intrigued by your thread wrapping technique - would you maybe do a class on that? I would LOVE to learn how to do that, it's so colorful and lovely.

Welcome to the PCC!
Inna :)

Thanks for the warm welcome and the kind words.

Inna it would take all of 5 minutes to teach that wrap. Maybe the next time you all get together I can show you.

Subu: What is the cross street for the double wide grill? I am working in town on Thursday if I remember before I am halfway home I am going to try to stop.

Hello !

I just found this group today, and I am looking forward to learning about the business and fun of selling arty crafty stuff in the Pittsburgh area.

Well, I hope I belong here, anyway. I enjoy painting abstract wierd stuff on wood and recently on ceramic tiles. Friends keep telling me that I could sell some of it if I tried, but I dont know anyone in or anything about such things. So I'm poking around here, seeing what I can learn.

One thing I need to know is if there are stores in the area that will help me sell my things. Perhaps I'll find the answers here, but if you have any tips, please let me know !

I also play with clay sometimes. :)
