from the invite i received:
It's once again time for our annual yarnfest benefiting Rwanda Knits and the Pittsburgh Women's Shelter. Yes, it's an opportunity to don your latest crocheted or knitted piece to show off in the impromptu fashion show, but there's going to be a lot more to the party than that. We'll have lots of yummy food(I've already been hearing rumors about what people are bringing....Mmmm!), there will be live jazz, door prizes, and as always, we'll have a huge basket to receive hats, scarves, mittens, and slippers for the women's shelter, as well as any balls or skeins of unworked yarn that you wish to donate (Three Rivers Crochet uses the yarn to create additional items for the women's shelter, and other charities). Last but not least--this is the part that benefits and supports Rwanda Knits--you'll want to bring your checkbooks and stock up for the holidays with beautiful handcrafted items. There will be quite a few items for purchase, and we will also hold a silent auction to sell a HUGE Black and Gold afghan (to see pictures, visit www.threeriverscrochet.blogspot.com and go the the entry for August 8, 2008). This party is not for "yarnies" only--your significant others, spouses and friends (be they not afraid of yarn...) will be most welcome! Don't forget to scroll down and RSVP by clicking in the response box right here in the Evite, and we'll see you there!
