Hi! I am VERY interested in learning more about website development/design and so are others I know. Is there a crafty friend out there who would be willing to teach me + others for a fee of course to do this?

What kind of stuff do you want to learn about?

Ah, hehe. I've got the front-end stuff covered, design, HTML, a fair amount of CSS, and Flash. About enough to get a basic site up and looking fun.

It's really helpful to have the right software, I prefer the Adobe/Macromedia products but they can be pricey. What sort of set up do most people interested have and what kind of site do they want to build?

i have the photoshop suite. and use a mac at home.

i think the type of website depends on the ability. but probably starting with the basics. i know that a few of us are looking to build personal and business sites.

basics are good, I just have to rewind my brain a little to figure out how best to start. I almost always start with a Photoshop or Illustrator page design then build it in code.

Everybody's all about the cascading style sheets these days, it's a bit more code than most beginners take on, but once you get the hang of it it's wonderfully versatile and flexible. I'm still learning all you can do with it but I think it's pretty cool and you can set up different style sheets for the same page and effortlessly update or swap between the designs. Do you think CSS would be a good place to start, or are we talking basic HTML first?

personally, i could start with css. i have a good understanding of html. but i don't think others do. and i would enjoy hearing it all since there are plenty of things i could still learn.
