New and excited to be here!

My name is Megan and I have a serious Craft Addiction. I have an Etsy Store, a Blog, and a Flickr Page. When I'm not working at Carnegie Mellon University, I'm crafting at home. I do everything under the sun. I'm a 24 year old, married, tri-cat owner, and I'm anxious to get acquainted with the crafty ladies of Pittsburgh. I've been living here for 2 years and I still, woefully, have not hooked up with a group of like-minded people. I hope the Pittsburgh Craft Collective will help with that.

I would love to assist with catalyzing a meet up or get together. You all sound lovely. I forsee an exciting exchange of ideas and a sympathetic mutual understanding of the power and passion of crafting anything.

Plus! I can french braid hair with the best of them! and there could be wine!

Welcome Megan! I really enjoyed looking at your work. I think you and I share a love of felt and color! I will be working on setting up some of the PCC events (crafternoons, and some other social events) so I look forward to meeting you.

And, you can e-mail me if you have any ideas for events in the future!

5:12 am and I finally found some quiet time to post an intro.

I am Mary Beth or MB. I am a crafter but mostly a stifled artist who has been using fiber as my medium while my children where small and my life uprooted after death of my husband. Now that life is beginning to get back on track and the children are in school I decided to go back to finish the AS degree in Art. I love fine art. In addition to fibers you can find me with a paintbrush in hand, some wateroils and ink on my shirt from Intaglio and Relief Printmaking.

I bring forth a small line of body friendly, natural cloth products for baby, mom and family inclusive of Fitted Cloth Diapers, Cloth Menstrual Products, Silk Ring Slings, nursing pads, paperfree household wares. My products are my original patterns and have been a pioneering cloth presence in Pittsburgh since 2002 both in Cloth diapers and Cloth Feminine Pads.

I am glad to be here. And I look forward to getting to know some of you better!! :)

Hi all

Postby eeni-ren on Thu Dec 04, 2008 1:46 am

Hi all,

I'm Inna, of een-ren designs. I've been, like so many of you, crafting for ever, and been making jewelry (silver, semi-precious stones, pearls) for the past 4-5 years. I also make collages, magnets, soldered glass pendants, and most recently getting back into crochet and needlework.

My website is http://www.eeni-ren.com, though after putting a ton of work getting it all fancy-schmancy and a cart set up, etc - I find that updating it is a royal pain, so it's sadly quite out of date. That's been the nagging thing on the 'to-do' list for a while now, alas!

I also have a business as a life coach, where I help people reconnect with their passions and 'become a you-er you'. This is mostly over the phone, but I also occasionally run workshops. Check out http://www.heywhatsnext.com.

I'm looking forward to connecting more with all you lovely crafters, and to get and share inspiration with the group.
Inna :)

Hi! Lovely little community you've got here. I'm new-ish to Pittsburgh, so I don't know many crafty people here, but I met some fabulous people at the I Made It Market on Saturday.

So. Me. I enamel jewelry, sew, embroider, and photograph. My latest obsessions are web design and typography, and I'm going to take advantage of open studios at AIR someday soon.

My mom's a professional artist, so I grew up in a studio, getting into her supplies and making messes. I got into enameling about 5 years ago, when I got to take classes at an art museum where I was working. That, combined with my love of Delicas and illustration, and an obsession was born. :)

I hope to meet you all at upcoming events!

Hi everyone!

Postby kittym on Sun Feb 01, 2009 5:12 am

My name is Kat. I am relatively new to the Pittsburgh (Cranberry area)-- moving from Florida. I haven't actually moved in yet, but if everything works out, we'll be up there on the 22nd. Moving is always kind of stressful for me, so I was happy to have found this group. I'm hoping to make a few friends or just "meet people" before I move. :)

A few of my interests: papercrafts, book binding, art journaling, sewing (by hand! My sewing machine scares me.) and a lot of other random things that I'll remember later because my mind doesn't function when I'm put on the spot!

I am happy to see that there are so many knitters on here... I can't knit, of course, but would love to learn. I have a crazy obsession with socks and would love to be able to knit my own.

Unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of time to do crafty things... I have a little one running around and he takes up a lot of my time. :)

I look forward to meeting all of you!!

welcome welcome! when i moved to pittsburgh 1.5 years ago, i did exactly the same thing that you're doing - found a crafty group pre-moving.

look forward to meeting you in person and wish you a good move.

Thanks, cosy! :) There wasn't a craft group where I'm moving from, so I am really excited about moving up and meeting other crafty people!

Also, I just looked at your site-- gorgeous knits and yarn!
