What kind of classes would you be interested in seeing (and taking!) from the PCC?

I will defintely be doing more fusing classes. I think Emily's idea of doing a monthly or bi-monthly standing class would be great. I will be looking into a location that is convenient and more central for people. (I would be up for suggestions:)

I would also be interested in a book binding class- I wanted to learn years ago for my senior project in college (painting/printmaking major) but I never did. Never too late, eh?

I think learning how to work with resin or PMC would be cool. So would screen-printing and weaving.

That's all stuff I'd love to try - but am way too intimidated to do so by myself at home!

I know a couple of people who know how to screen print, so I will look into that!

I'm not sure what styles are out there, I bought a couple from a store that were made of bamboo and recycled paper, I really like those. Could you tell me more about the styles to choose from?

there is a pamphlet stitch, japanese stab binding, coptic stitch, and then a bunch of other hard ones...the first three are the easiest. let me know if you need some links.

Book Binding Styles

Em, I would love to see some links to check out these styles you've listed. I definitely think we should start with some of the easier techniques first though

here you go:

pamphlet stitch
stab binding
coptic stitch

there are enough variations within each style for an entire workshop. it's just a matter of getting started. i would recommend the pamphlet and stab binding first. they are the easiest. coptic is fairly difficult if you have never done it before.

ah, but the name coptic is so mysterious sounding...

I am excited to take this class. I will keep my eyes peeled for details!
